Is he home YET?

(These pictures have nothing to do with the post, except I took them while Scott was gone and I thought they were super cute!)

Scott has been out of town for the past few days and the saying "absence makes the heart grow founder," is true. When he is gone, I am reminded how much I appreciate him. I am used to doing the everyday wife/mom/house stuff but there are certain things that Scott just normally does. So here are just a few things I notice I miss (besides his cute face of course)....

- The rule "I cook, you clean" does not apply anymore. I cook, I clean. Therefore I am not as excited to cook.

- Any dishes I don't feel like doing throughout the day, I can't leave them in the sink in hopes he won't notice they aren't a part of the dinner dishes, and do them too. Nope, the dishes just sit there forever, and pile up.

- When the trash stinks, I have to take it out. I am really good at balancing trash on top of a full can but there comes a point when my skillz don't work anymore and I must take it out.

- When a child won't go to bed I have to figure out how to be that soft, warm, snuggly Daddy who has this magic ability to put a kid to sleep in 5 mins.

- When a child wakes up in the middle of the night there is no one to nudge and say "she wants you."

- My only protection is our dog, Cruiser, that BARKS ALL NIGHT LONG (and day) when Scott is gone. Cruiser is the man of the house right now. In fact he's barking as I type this.

- Every single poopy butt is all for me to change.

- There are no empty (or almost full) soda cans left around the house to pick up in the morning. Ok scratch that, I don't miss that.

- The only thing snoring next to me at night is the dog. Well that is if he's not barking.

Sedona

For our Anniversary, we took an overnight trip to Sedona. Thanks to my Mom who watched the girls for us and also a big thanks to my Mom and Aunt who helped send us there!! It was our first overnight trip alone since we have had children! It was great! On Friday we left early because we had a couple's massage scheduled. The massage was amazing, to say the least. Afterwards we went to lunch and saw a movie. We then drove on up to Sedona. It was so nice just being able to do whatever we wanted all day long. It was so nice having that freedom again!

We had a romantic dinner that evening on the patio of the resturauant at our hotel. The sun was setting behind the mountain, there were rose bushes all around, and a fire pit. The waiter took his time with us so we could just sit back, relax, and enjoy.

The next day we went into downtown Sedona and walked around the shops until it was time to come back to reality.
I have to say though, we did miss our little girls! We couldn't wait to see their little faces!

5 Years

I find it funny that when Scott and I were first married, we planned to wait 5 years to have children. Well we made it to that 5 year mark and now instead of just starting our family, we are looking to finish it with a 3rd child. Crazy how things have changed! I can't believe all we have done and all we have to look forward too. We have grown not only as a family but much closer together as a couple. Five years ago today I married my best friend. The one I laugh with, live for, love. It just keeps getting better! I am so thankful for you, Scott.

It's PeanutButter Playdough Time!

The other day I made peanut butter playdough for the girls. They can play with it and eat it too. I chose not to tell them they could eat it hoping play time would last longer...

Rylee never even thought to put it in her mouth.

But, Haylee on the other hand....
She literally bit into it the second I gave it to her.

She devoured it and moved on to eat Rylee's.
"Puh-leeeease can I have some of yours?"
"No? Fine, I'll eat my crumbs then."

I try to get a shot of the cousins whenever I babysit Eli but I never get a good picture. I just thought this one was funny, Haylee decided to plop herself down inbetween Rylee and Eli. She looks huge!

I finally got Haylee in to her 18 month well check (we'll say 19 month check though since I took her a month late) and the doctor literally gushed about her. The doctor said she is the happiest sweetest baby she has seen and she has seen it all. I told her I wasn't making it up when I said she's a good kid! She didn't even make a peep when she got her shot. She weighs in at 25lbs, is 31 inches tall and in the 50th percentile. So she caught back up to "normal" stats and is doing great. She is such a blessing to us and makes us want more!

Blink-182

Scott and I went to AZ's Fall Frenzy to see blink-182 on Saturday. Scott promised me that if they ever reunited he would go with me to the concert. He ate his words when they announced their reunion tour this year. I bought tickets the day they went on sale and he was going with me, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. And he hestitantly went, for me (sweet huh?). Turns out he had a great time too. I'm not suppose to tell you that but...oops. The place was packed, it was outdoors at Tempe Beach Park so it was standing room only. We got there around 7pm (blink-182 went on at 10:30pm) and found our spot...we shoved our way to the middle right next to a barrier that split an aisle down from the middle of the stage for security. We were plastured there the rest of the evening, we didn't budge because we did not want to loose our spot. We stood there until 12am when it was all over. It was worth it though! So fun!

This picture below is not good at all but all we had was Scott's cell phone and a few seconds. Anyway, at the end of Fall Out Boy's set (went on before blink), Pete Wentz (basist) jumped off stage and came down the middle aisle we were standing by. I stuck my hand out to high five him and just two people before he got to me, he jumped up on the barrier and fell into the crowd. We were completely star struck. I have never been that close to anyone famous. Mind you, I wasn't sure of his name until I came home and googled it, but still, very cool. So the pic is him jumping up (he's the blur) and his body guard (big guy, bald head) holding him up.

I just wanted to add that the night 0f the concert marked the one year anniversary of the plane crash Travis Barker (blink 182 drummer) was in that killed 4 people. They dedicated the night to him and man is he an amazing drummer! Seriously, he has skills.

Still too hot....

So, I have been dying to get back outside again and this past weekend we got a small glimpse of fall temperatures. We ventured to the park for the first time in months but we only lasted about 10 minutes. It was still just too hot, even at 9am. But we still had fun for those 10 mins.
