School Events

Scott volunteered at Rylee's school's carnival and had to man their class's game. It was this awesome football toss! Ha!
They had a rock climbing wall there which was really cool and the girls both tried it. I love this picture of Haylee, she looks so happy!
Haylee was a champ and climbed pretty high.

Rylee made it about a foot up... =)
Rylee had her first, 1st grade, field trip to the Arizona Science Center. Scott had never been and decided he wanted to go! So he chaperoned! Of course they put him with all girls! They loved him though!
Rylee's face in the giant telescope!

Haylee's 5th Birthday!

Our baby girl is 5! I can't believe she will be starting kindergarten soon! She is doing so well in preschool! It's helped her to really blossom. She is still shy but has gotten much better about it and opens up quicker. She has become much more talkative and her speech has become more clear. She also is getting really good at writing her name and has recently started writing other names too. She draws such cute pictures of people. She is still our mischief child always sneaking into things! She loves candy and gum and will sneak it whenever she gets a chance. She is the biggest cuddle bug I have ever met (must get it from her Dad). She is such a daddy's girl. She is so brave and jumps into just about anything. She loves babies and acts like a little mom. She loves to wrestle, dance, sing, and dress up. She can be very sensitive at times though even when we think she is funny she doesn't like if we laugh or smile at her! She's adorable and we love her!
All ready for school on her birthday!
After school, Zach and I met Scott and her at the park for a picnic lunch.
I didn't get a picture of it, but Scott tried to do an epic back flip off the swing. OH MY was it funny. I don't think he took into account that he is a bigger grown man now...But alas, I only have a picture of this cutie pie swinging. Although if you look closely, you may see the war wounds on Scott's face.
Haylee requested mashed potatoes (her favorite) for dinner.
Her cake!
We got her a camera for her birthday, she was so thrilled!
After cake and presents, she crashed on the couch. Poor girl started running a fever again!

Valentine's Day

The week of Valentine's was not great...We all took our turn with catching the actual flu. (fever, body aches, chills, the works) Zach and I didn't get sick until later that week and Haylee and Scott were on the mend on Valentine's Day (Rylee was at school) so we went out to lunch. I loved this sweet moment between brother and sister (he was trying to kiss her).
Scott brought each of his girls a rose.
Rylee with her flower Scott surprised her with after school and her loot of Valentine's from her class.
I made a nice dinner but Rylee's fever came back and Haylee and Scott just didn't feel that well that evening so it was pretty lame. And that was that!

The Nave Cousins' Birthday Party

Rylee, Haylee, and Elijah all have February birthdays so we had one giant party in the park for them! This is the only picture I got of the 3 of them together and my camera was on a weird setting so it did not come out good at all! Too bad because it would have been a cute picture!
The Cake
We rented a bounce house and good thing because it was windy and freezing that day so the bounce house was the only place to warm up!
Zach did not like the bounce house, he refused to get back in it!
The kids playing soccer.
All the kids got a turn with the pinata.

The best part was watching all the kids go crazy when the candy fell out! It was a storm of screaming happy kids.

Singing to the Birthday kids!
Time for cake
Opening Presents
Despite the fact it was cold, it was a great party! Thanks to all who came!!

Rylee's 7th Birthday

Our first born is 7. SEVEN!! She is a beautiful, smart, social little girl. She is a great helper, and likes to be organized. She'll actually set up her own chore chart or come up with different activities. She definitely is a stereotypical oldest child, bossy and all!  She loves to color and write and currently loves to put together books. Especially family favorites books. She is such a goofball too and cracks us up. She loves to sing and dance and play dress up. She has a bunch of friends and its fun getting to the age where she calls her friends just to chat and goes over to their houses to play. She's growing up and we love her to pieces.
On her birthday with her new bible ready for church.
She requested to go to Famous Dave's for lunch because they have the awesome birthday candles!
Her birthday was on Super Bowl Sunday again so she wanted a butterfly football cake!
She is doing so well in school and received the Principal's Honor Award for straight A's and perfect attendance. This super picture is at the ceremony where she is to the left of the red shirt kid on stage. =)

The Rest of 2012

Its been awhile! So I figured I'd finish up 2012 starting from where I left off at that end of October...
Scott got tickets from a work friend to a Cardinals game and I got to go too! It was my very first pro football game and my very first time seeing the stadium. It was such a fun experience but the game was lame. Dang Cardinals.
We had a great Halloween. Our pumpkins...

I made both the girls' costumes this year. Rylee was a witch, Haylee was Batgirl, and Zach was Batman.
They trick-or-treated around our neighborhood with their cousins
Then we went to my Mom's for my family's halloween party. We trick-or-treated there too. My Uncle is always known around the neighborhood for this giant costume but this year he stepped it up a notch and made it completely awesome with the cage. Man, was he popular this year!!
Not much happened in November that I really remember! Haylee had her Thanksgiving feast at school which her class dressed up as the pilgrims. (Haylee is bottom left)
I didn't take any pictures on Thanksgiving but it went great! We went to Scott's family's first then to mine. Then Holly and I stayed up all night once again to shop Black Friday. Wasn't really worth it this year but still fun!
December started off with Scott out of town for a week. While he was gone, Rylee had a fun run at school to raise money for a playground for their school. She ran over 2 miles, I couldn't believe it!! She did so well and the event was really fun.
Rylee had a Christmas performance at her school. (She's top middle) It was super crowded and being its a new school it was a little crazy. But it blew me away the songs they sang, Silent Night and Away in a Manger. I really appreciated the focus and made me love the school a little more!
Haylee also had a Christmas performance at her school. It was very cute. She stood up their shyly singing with her hands in her mouth. Literally licking and shoving her hand all around in her mouth...??? A nervous (and germy gross) habit I guess. But still cute and she opened up once they sang Jingle Bells while ringing bells.
We went to my Mom's to celebrate her birthday and we all made gingerbread houses while we were there.
On Christmas Eve Eve, we made and decorated sugar cookies.
All ready for Church on Christmas Eve.
We were suppose to go over to Scott's parents for Christmas Eve dinner but they were not feeling well and it was already getting late so we ended up having a impromptu speghetti dinner at home!
The kids with their cookies and milk out for Santa...Haylee is actually not crying this year!
Christmas morning started EXTREMELY early, 4:30am. The kids were up and ready to open presents at that crazy hour and there was no getting them back to sleep.

We had our traditional homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast then headed over to my Mom's for Christmas day.
This is the life size batman action figure Papa and Grammie Nave got Zach. The thing is awesome.
We wasted no time, the day after Christmas we headed to the cabin! It snowed a couple times and it was overall a fun relaxing trip!
I love this picture of my happy girl.
Zach all bundled up.
We went sledding the day after it snowed. Zach hated it and cried almost the whole time at the bottom of the hill. Rylee found a friend and sledded with him until she almost crashed and got really upset at me for not saving her. And Haylee's boots didn't get any traction so she had a really really hard time getting to the top of the hill. As in, I literally had to throw her the rope attached to my sled to pull her up when she got stuck at one point. It was a mess, but Scott and I had a blast sledding down! At least we had a good time!

My boys
Snowball fight!
Scott was pulling the kids around the driveway on the sled and Cruiser wanted in on the action. It was pretty funny!

Batman joined us on the trip, surprising us in random places but had an accident so we put a diaper on him.
Scott made his Dad's famous snow cream.
My WHOLE family. =)
We did a lot of puzzles which was new for us. Scott and I actually completed our first 1000 piece puzzle.
We went sledding again which went a little better this time.
Scott and Rylee crashed halfway down.
Rylee was mad so she threw snow at him.

Surprise snowball attack.
Haylee lost her first tooth at the cabin on New Year's Eve! She was so excited but terrified the tooth fairy would come so she made Scott sleep with he tooth under his pillow.
Rylee was the only kid that stayed up until midnight. She was very diligent about checking the time and she planned out stations for us to do stuff at which included games, puzzles, and eating.
Goodbye 2012! Happy New Year!
