Decorating The Tree

Adding the final touch, the star on top.
After the tree was done, I thought it would be nice to take a picture of the girls cute and happy in front of it. How hard could that be, right?

A bazillion pictures and two frustrated parents later, this is the best we got.

A Collection of Pictures that Make Me Laugh

Rylee discovered this "cheese" face on her own.
This was the entertainment before breakfast this morning.
Hanging out with Eli. They LOVE him and were so excited to take a picture...well everyone but Eli, he doesn't look as enthused.
I got out the Christmas decorations and Rylee found the stockings. She said to me, "Mom, these are BIG BIG socks!" Then put them on. I still don't think she understands what they are meant for...

Roasting Marshmellows

Letting the girls roast their own marshmellows...
Haylee's never got close enough to the fire to toast it but she sure was happy thinking she was.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We stopped over at Scott's parent's first for a quick bite and then went over to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner.
Rylee in her full princess attire.
This is what Scott did.
The boys were suppose to be watching the kids play outside...It started off with them innocently watering the plants and turned into a big muddy mess. I didn't get a picture but at first Rylee was in her pink princess leotard ballerina skirt while watering. Not a good mix.
Haylee's clothes were so messy she ended up having to strip down to her diaper.

Halloween

First, we carved our pumpkins.
This was the last time we saw Haylee's pumpkin, at some point Cruiser ate it...
Scott making the first cut. (Notice his new hair style? lol)
The girls getting a feel for pumpkin slime
Haylee dove right in.
My finished product...Snow White for Rylee.

Now don't be frightened....

But here is Scott's

Then it was time to get dressed up! Here are the girls all ready to go Trick-or-Treating

We saw Haylee's costume online and thought it would be hilarious if she wore it. I added the bow so people would know it was a girl under there.

Cousins

Trick-or-Treating This was by far the best Halloween. The girls were so cute. Rylee ran up to every house, rang the bell, and yelled Trick-or-Treat. If the person didn't answer the door she would yell, "Hello! It's me Rylee. Rylee princess Snow White!" Haylee walked painstakingly slow. She didn't know what was going on. When she did make it to the door, people went crazy over her. The costume was a huge hit!

Here is a very short video of Haylee trick-or-treating. She was so little and cute in this costume, I didn't think pictures did it justice!

Pumpkins, Suckers, A Big Scary Guy, and a Goodbye.

We took the girls to pick out their pumpkins this weekend. They each found the perfect pumpkin for them. And then would set it down and find another perfect pumpkin. So many to choose from!
Both girls were offered a sucker when we got to the "pumpkin patch." Haylee took the biggest sucker there was, it barely fit in her mouth, and Rylee just tried to put her pumpkin in the bowl of candy when the lady offered it to her. I guess we need to work on the trick-or-treating skills. Haylee of course dropped her sucker in the dirt and was very upset when I took it away to clean it off. I used a baby wipe to get the dirt off...hey eating leftover fuzz from the wipe has to be better than dirt, right?!

We also took the girls to a Halloween carnival at the school my Uncle works at. He's the big scary guy on the left. Haylee just kept her distant and nervously waived at him.
I also wanted to add that last Thursday, my Mom had to put her Dog, Copper, down. I went with her for support. It was really hard. Copper was almost 15 years old. We came back to my Mom's house heartbroken and Scott was there with the girls and he had surprised us both with flowers. We both just looked at Scott and lost it (again). It was so thoughtful of him! What a sweet guy.

Thats what she said...

I wanted to share some of the funny things Rylee has said lately!

Like...

Rylee: "AHHHH! There's a bug on the floor!"
Daddy: "Oh no! What kind of bug is it?"
Rylee: "A diarrhea bug!"

and....

I was reading to the girls the book, "Go Dog Go." Their current favorite. I read the part "Stop Dogs Stop! The light is red now!"

Rylee ducks her head down, covers her face, and shouts "Oh no, duck your head down!!"

In case there is a camera and we run the light, of course.
