The Sun and Moon

One day Rylee made up the song...

"The sun goes up,
and the moon goes down.
The sun goes down,
and the moon goes up."

She sings it a lot and gets mad (but thinks it's hilarious) if you sing it wrong.

"The moon goes up,
and the sun goes UP?"

Anyway, as we were folding laundry she looked out the window and noticed the moon was up during the day!! How could this be? She panicked and asked what was that? I said the moon and she said "Nooooo! The sun is up. What is that?!" I tried really hard to explain that sometimes you can see the moon during the day....to a 3 year old....

...she is still very confused.

18 Months!

Haylee is 18 months old! She doesn't see the doctor until next month so I don't have any of those stats.
But...she is still the happiest baby ever, she gives the world's greatest hugs, she is the biggest cuddle bug, she has developed such a personality now and is learning her voice, and she loves dancing, and singing.
She still doesn't have much hair but the hair she does have looks awesome after a bath!

Dancing Babies

Both girls started feelin' the urge to shake it around 18 months. I have video of each of them dancing to the song of their choice. This is the first time I have been able to share the video of Rylee...oh how she has changed!

Our New Addition

Not much has been going on around here! We are cooped up inside avoiding going out in the 110+ degree heat! Last weekend though we ventured out and car shopped. Let me tell you, it was miserable...we spent about 10 mins looking at each car and then booked it inside to the air conditioning. We decided to trade in our small SUV now while we still would get more money than we owe for it and upgrade it to a big SUV. We searched for every used SUV on the internet (we had to buy used to stay in our budget since we wanted something bigger) and we looked at a bunch of different SUVs all across the valley. After many dissapointments and a lot of annoying car salesmen later we found our perfect match.

We bought a 2005 Dodge Durango. It seats 7, has rear air (A must have! Our old vehicle didn't have this which is crazy that its not standard in AZ! Our poor kids!), and a DVD player which Rylee has already gotten good use out of! Its great and in great condition.

We were obviously confused about the cash for clunkers program...Oh wait, we were suppose to trade in our older less fuel efficient vehicle for a newer more fuel efficient vehicle??!?! Whooops. We totally got that one backwards... ha ha

In other news, Haylee has enough hair to put a hair tie in!!! This is her 1st official "do".
And lastly, my cute as can be Minnie Mouses.

Colorado Trip and White Water Rafting!

Feeding the horses
Scott's 26th Birthday!
*The 4th of July*
We all roasted marshmellows and made s'mores. It was wet and muddy but we made the best of it!
Rylee enjoying an "unroasted" marshmellow.
Haylee stole my s'more! She loved it and made the cutest faces while eating it!
(see the video at the end of this post!)

Watching fireworks...Rylee was terrified of the bug zapper hanging by us on the balcony so she wasn't enjoying herself.
WHITE WATER RAFTING!
We went on an all day rafting trip on the Arkansas River for Scott's birthday!

All of us!

Hiking down the hill to the river.
Our action shots

Goofball Scott noticed the photographer and had this cheezy grin in every picture after that.
Colby, Trisha, Mike, and Jeff.
It was awesome! We all had such a good time! I gave it 2 thumbs up!
We went to the Alpine Slides at Heritage Square.
Riding the chair lift up!
I took Rylee down.
And Scott took Haylee.
The were a bunch of kiddie rides there too so we took Rylee on everything. Let's just say this park was a cross between a county fair (that has been sitting there for 30 years) and the movie Adventureland.
Here we are on the carousel with the most scariest horses we have ever seen!
Rylee and I on the ferris wheel
Scott and Rylee all alone on the bumper boats. Scott would crash into the wall in slow motion screaming because there was nothing else to bump. It was hilarious.
The nauseater
The scariest rollercoaster I have ever been on. Rylee was so excited for it until we took the first lap and thought we were going to die or at least suffer from severe whiplash. We had the pleasure of doing it 3 times around.
Scott regretting the decsion of buying the unlimited ride pass...
On our last day we hiked down to the lake and Haylee went swimming for the first time.
This was a test picture for our family shot but I thought it turned out cute.

The family shot
I dressed Haylee up like a cowgirl so we tried to get some shots with the horses...she was not happy.
And lastly we had to go bowling so I could show off my skillz. Althought those skillz were not present that night...
Rylee bowled a couple of times!
