Last Prego Pic
Rylee's last belly pic, lol!!
YYYYY
Arriving to the hospital on Valentine's Day at 5am to be induced!

Waiting to be induced....
This is the name tag the nurse made for Haylee. She said she decorated it for Valentine's Day in high hopes we would have her that day....
The induction was not successful on Feb 14. They started by giving me Pitocin to induce labor and kept uping the amount every 30 mins or so. I never felt any contractions. By 1pm that day the nurse told me that most women would be screaming for an Epidural by now and I still didn't feel a thing. So, they stopped that approach and let me eat (thank goodness!) and then inserted a hormone that would help. Problem was, I had to wait 12 hours for it to work!! We were so bummed! What a waste of a day, especially Valentine's day! So Scott and I spent our evening at the hospital, so romantic, NOT! Ha Ha. So, the morning of the 15th we started ALL over again! My Mom arrived around 7am just after they gave me more Pitocin. I finally kicked into labor!! We played Canasta as I was contracting, the pain wasn't too bad at first!
My doctor broke my water around 9am and I went into full blown labor. I was about 3cm dilated at that point. The contractions hit hard and fast. I wanted an epidural but there were 2 C-sections that morning and the anesthesiologists were busy with them. So I had to ride it out for a while. It was terrible! Worse than with Rylee! I finally recieved my epidural, it was good! Around noon I was checked and I was 7cm dilated. The nurse told me the girl next door was 9cm dilated (she had the same doctor as me and we were "racing" to see who would have their baby first) so her baby would most likely be delivered first and then it would be my turn. I was bummed thinking I lost the race to her (she just checked in that morning and I had been there for over 24 hours.) Then suddenly I started getting strong pains. I told the nurse and she said to just hit the epidural button once to give me more pain killer. So I did but I still felt the pain and had an unquestionable need to push. We thought there was NO WAY I could go from 7cm to 10cm in 15 mins but the nurse decided to check me anyway. And guess what, I was 10cm dilated and ready to go! So they rushed all of the nurses in and got me ready to go. But then they discovered my doctor wasn't at the hospital yet so they told me to hold Haylee in as long as I could!!!! WHAT?!? For the past two days we have been trying everything to get her out and now they wanted me to hold her in? I did, it took everything I had to keep from pushing! I was smiling through most of it, the irony was so funny to me. Plus I just got that extra boost of the epidural right before I pushed so it wasn't so bad! Nice! Finally the doctor showed up and so did my sister-in-law, Holly, just in time for me to push Haylee out. It went so well, much better than the 3 hours of pushing with Rylee!
So here she is, Miss Haylee Lynn:
Weighing in at 9lbs 1 oz! Good thing we induced early! She was bigger than expected. She turned out bigger than Rylee!
The clock in her room showing her exact birthday and birth time.
