Staycation!

Scott took this past week off so we decided to take a trip to a local resort hotel and hang poolside all day and just relax! We left the evening of my 27th birthday but right before we left we had to have birthday cake! Scott made me my favorite chocolate fudge cake from scratch (best husband ever)! He said it looked awful but I thought it was the best cake ever. So delicious!

We had dinner at Rustler's Rooste which overlooks Phoenix and has a slide to get down to the restaurant!
The girls got balloon animals. Rylee requested a pink elephant and named it Pinky. And Haylee, a purple elephant named Maggie. My birthday dessert! Cotton Candy! Rylee going down the slide! Haylee and I Scott and Zach
My cowboys Rylee was barely tall enough so Haylee you couldn't even see!The view A picture of just Scott and I, wow! Courtesy of Rylee. The next day we hung out at the pool all day. It was perfect. It wasn't crowded, it wasn't that hot, and the kids had a blast. The girls played in the pool and made friends easily with every kid there so they were perfectly content all day. We were able to just hang out on the lawn chairs and relax while they splash around. It was great! They had a waterslide there that Rylee was tall enough to go on! Scott and I took turns taking her, we went over and over. She loved it.Haylee just watched from the splash pool. This is what Zach did a lot, all of the swimming wore him out. But it was perfect for me because I could just sit back and relax with him.Haylee taking a breakWith 3 little kids I can't believe how well this trip went! The children were happy pretty much the entire time which made us very happy parents. What a great getaway!

*The Fourth*

Sunday, July 3rd, was Scott's birthday. The girls made him this totally awesome crown so he could be the birthday king. And I posted it, oh ya.
He's 28 now! And for 9 days I get to be 2 years younger than him, ha ha. The next day we celebrated 4th of July. Zach's first Independence Day! Yay! I tried to get a picture of my 3 darling children but Haylee just woke up from her nap so she was upset.
Goodness, that face. Cracks me up. "Don't touch me"
Her crying led to Zach crying.
Still cute though LOVE!
Scott said "Ok, kids, climb on my back and we'll take a picture, that will make you all happy!"
"No? Ok lets all scream then."
Daddy hugs make it better.
We went to my Mom's to watch the fireworks (we can see the city's show from her house). We let the kids try sparklers while we waited and I tried out the night settings on my camera! So cool!

And the best for last...
2011 The firework show was cancelled due to a storm that rolled in. Luckily the kids weren't upset at all! There were plenty of people setting off fireworks from their homes for them to see, which was good enough for them! They were ready to go home before the show would have started anyways!

One evening...

...after baths, when everyone was ready for bed, Rylee was helping Zach walk around. It was sweet so I took some pictures...

Then they sat down and were playing together. He loves her. That led to the kids wanting me to take pictures of them in every pose they could think of and then running over to see how funny each picture was on my camera.

Which then led to silly faces and lots of giggles.

I told Haylee this would be the last picture so make your silliest face...

The kids and I were laughing so hard that night, what silly fun.

One more thing, our garden is looking great! We picked some cilantro (our first harvest) and used it with dinner. It was the best cilantro ever. ; )
