A Thanksgiving Getaway

We went to Colorado for Thanksgiving to visit Scott's family. It was a nice getaway that went by way too fast!

Here's Haylee looking adorable on the loooong ride up there.

Don't tell Papa.....
So cute!
We decided to drive to Colorado Springs for a day and venture up to the top of Pike's Peak. It was amazing! We are not afraid of heights normally, but the drive up the mountain was scary! The roads have no gaurd rails and there is about a foot of dirt on the side of the very skinny road and then a huge drop off. It was freaky! Its about a 45 minute drive to the top, the first half is a super easy drive but the second half is constant scary switchbacks all the way to the top. But we made it!
At the top there is an amazing view and a gift shop. We checked out the shop first and about 2 minutes into our shopping we all started feeling the onset of altitude sickness. We looked around and started noticing everyone in there seemed very unsteady and growing sicker. I didn't think it would affect us but it sure did! So we got out of there, checked out the view, snapped some pictures and left! We were up there maybe 20 mins before we decided it was too cold and too hard to breath! The view was amazing though, it was like being outside of an airplane. Worth the drive up! The crazy roads going back down. The drive down was not bad at all because we were on the inside of the road instead of hugging the edge!

Haylee's first Thanksgiving! My favorite Thanksgiving food, a smoked turkey leg.
Yes, its that good!
The kiddos running around
Rylee in action! She was so cute running around outside!
The day we left we woke up to this!! Figures it snowed the day we had to leave! We decided to leave later in the morning so we could enjoy the snow.
This was Haylee's first time in the snow! She looked so funny bundled up in Rylee's old snowsuit! It was just a tad big!

Talk about last minute snow suits!

9 Months Old

Haylee is 9 months old! It's unreal that she has now been here longer than I was pregnant with her. Time flies, we will be celabrating her first birthday before we know it! She is crawling now, it's funny how that ability just clicks one day. She also is pulling up on anything and everything. She is a busy girl!

And she's off!
This is her after her nap the first time she pulled up in her crib...I walked in and saw her standing up so I had to run to get my camera. This did not go over very well, she screamed and cried (and I mean full blown, snot running out of her nose tantrum) that I left her there. But she was still standing when I returned with my camera!

Spooktacular!

We had a great Halloween! Rylee really enjoyed it since this year she understood what was going on. Everynight leading up to Halloween she would ask if it was Halloween time yet.

Carving our pumpkin

Haylee really enjoyed the pumpkin slime

Trick or Treating
Wardrobe change
We totally wore Rylee out trick or treating. My whole family gets together for trick or treating at my mom's house. Not too many houses were giving out candy this year so we had to walk a lot just to get to a house that was handing out candy. She was pooped! I ended up having to carry her all the way back to my Mom's house! I was pooped too, she is a solid packed kid, let me tell you!

Little Pumpkins

We took the girls to pick out pumpkins this weekend

Rylee was really into it this year!
"This one? Nope, too heavy" "This one? Nope..." "It's perfect" She said.
We also took the girls to visit their Great Uncle Terry at a Halloween carnival. See the family resemblance??

Painting

So last weekend we took on the big project of painting our house. We just did a neutral color (It's basically a few shades darker than before just semi-gloss...I just wanted something other than the flat paint) for the living room, dining room, office, and halls and a red accent wall behind the TV. It turned out great! I am SO glad we are done!
Rylee Helping

Haylee LOVED the plastic we laid down. I know some of you are freaking out that I let her play with it....It was only for a few minutes and I watched her the entire time...sheesh. =)

She loved the noise it made. Everytime we put her down she would go straight for it.

So we had to contain her in her Mini Me cart. She loved checking herself out in the mirror.

Here is the after.

Haylee is now 8 months old!!!

I only got one picture of her before she discovered the sign....

Let the destruction begin.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This picture reminded me of one of my famous lines as a kid.

Guesses anyone??

"All this pay-per. All this crwap!"

Weren't you laying down a second ago?!

The other day I laid Haylee down in the living room, went into the kitchen, and when I turned and looked back at her she was sitting up! I second guessed myself, thinking "I did lay her down when I left her, didn't I?! And now she is sitting!" Now she is a pro, the second you put her down she sits right back up all by herself. She also hit another milestone, clapping her hands together. When I got excited that she sat up all by herself she immediatly started clapping. So proud of herself! Here she is right after she sat up on her own with her silly laughing face. (She has a snort laugh which explains the face...)

Our Anniversary

We have been married for 4 years now!!

My Mom watched the girls while we went out to dinner at Mastro's City Hall Steakhouse (formally Drinkwater). It was sooooo good!! I only have 2 pictures from our evening out, one is of the dessert and the other is a very unflattering picture of us!

Here is the dessert that was on the house since it was our anniversary! How nice!
